Since our establishment, we have managed and continue to manage successfully a wide range of dry bulk ship types and sizes, providing technical and commercial maritime services of the highest caliber.
Using a combination of in-house technical management and third-party advisors, our shipping specialists oversee the careful maintenance and day-to-day running of ships amid today’s increasingly complex regulatory parameters, including the International Safety Management Code (ISM), Flag State, Port State control and Classification Society rules. Company and vessels are fully certified for ISM and ISPS Compliance by Lloyd’s Register as well as Liberian Flag Administration.
Operations
The Company follows the methods of planned maintenance consisting of three approaches.
The first approach is the installation of computerised plan maintenance system, enabling the office personnel to be fully updated with all maintenance works conducted onboard.
The same system provides the maintenance periods and due days during which relevant works should be conducted and, in a way, ensuring the proper maintenance of the vessel.
The second approach is the utilisation of ships' crew on a planned maintenance procedure and close supervision from the Company’s office personnel with visits on board in regular intervals as well as when vessels are calling in convenient ports.
The third approach is the utilisation of riding repairs' teams, in case deemed necessary.
Technical
Our technical team of highly qualified professionals which is supported by the latest technology performance monitoring tools and fully comprehensive maintenance programs (e-PMS), closely monitor the vessels’ performance and their condition and ensure that hull, machinery and equipment are properly maintained and always kept at the highest standards.
The ship specific planned maintenance system allows us to carry out the maintenance tasks on a timely and cost-efficient manner while the vessel’s tailor-made maintenance system ensures the reliable and continuous operation of the ship and its equipment while maintaining its value to the maximum.
The planning and attending of Dry Dockings, repairs, major technological upgrades and retrofitting guarantee that vessels under our technical management are kept above industry’s standards while complying with the current and the upcoming regulations in the fast-changing environment of shipping.
Purchasing
Our purchasing team always makes sure that the supply of spares, stores and lubricants is made on a cost-efficient way, planned well in advance and is quality driven. We cooperate only with top quality spare part suppliers and major lubricant providers in order to be able to control the quality of the supplies to the maximum standard.
Crew
Our company in cooperation with top tier and well-established manning agents, with whom we maintain long-term relations, offers full crew services including but not limited to crew pre-selection, in house interviewing by our office personnel, pre-employment evaluation and preparation, as well as eventual traveling arrangements to join the vessel. We ensure to keep a high retention ratio of officers and crew which concludes in punctual and safe transportation of goods. Always planning ahead for minimum time loss during crew changes but always retaining highly qualified and experienced officers and crew.
Chartering
Being in the dry sector for years, our chartering team has acquired long-term relationships and partnerships within the industry and has created a culture of mutual respect with major charterers. Our skilled and highly professional team is always in the know of the dry bulk sector market trends which allows us to develop well thought out strategies and plan ahead when necessary.

S&P
Our technical and commercial teams have extensive experience in targeting the right candidate vessels for our clients, arrange pre-purchase surveys and guide the potential owners concerning the pricing and bidding.
Legal, Insurance and Claims Department
Our Legal, Insurance and Claims department addresses and oversees all aspects of general and other legal matters associated to insurance and claims.
Our Legal department’s main functions are related to all sort of commercial and corporate matters for companies primarily incorporated in overseas jurisdictions extended to contract reviewing (inclusive but not limited to charterparties, shipping finance and S&P transactions), company’s abidance to compliance obligations and drafting of agreements and various legal documents.
The Insurance department’s responsibilities are established with a focus to negotiating, placing and attending P&I, H&M, FD&D, LOH, War Risks insurances as well as extra insurances and guarantees for pollution matters and customs purposes.
Our Claim’s department main objective is to effectively handle all sort of claims (whether under C/P or pursuant to the managed ship owning companies’ liabilities as carriers under a B/L or otherwise - also in case arbitration or other proceedings are initiated). Especially, to take all required actions for preventing the company from being exposed to claims by always undertaking appropriate, concise and preventive due diligence actions, whilst effectively coordinating with all rest departments.
Fleet performance
The Fleet Performance is sitting on the below three major pillars which are KPI driven:
One of the most important KPIs of the technical department is to keep the unplanned maintenance to the practical minimum, thus ensuring that the off-hire time is kept to the absolute low.
The other major KPI is the monitoring of the hull and equipment performance which will ensure that the vessel performs within the described values given to the clients and that the contractual obligations are fulfilled.
The third major KPI has to do with the monitoring of the vessel’s emissions and the execution of the plan to minimize emissions, above and beyond what the regulations suggest.
Health & Safety

We hold the highest regard for the health and safety of its personnel and the protection of the environment in an ethical manner as much as possible.Leros operates under a Safety Management System in compliance with the IMO’s ISM code. Leros management system also complies with the Quality Standard ISO and BIMCO.
